Hi Ladies! I'm new to the site and so thankful to have stumbled upon such a wonderful support group.
I am currently 5 weeks and 6 days preggers, and just started having unbearable morning sickness yesterday. I am a teacher, and I can't afford to miss so many days of school or leave my kids unattended while I sit in the bathroom for hours on end. I am home sick today.
I called up my OB (who I haven't seen yet.) I was scheduled for my first appt. at 9 weeks. They are having me come in today, and I already want to ask for a prescription of Zofran. Am I ridiculous? What do you think this appt. will consist of?

I don't think it's ridiculous at all. You're sick and there's something that will make you feel better. No brainer to me!
At my first appt the MW just suggested ginger ale and ginger candy if I felt sick but when I met with the OB on Friday (I was 7w3d) she asked if I had any nausea and when I said yes she gave me a script for zofran without batting an eye.
Why be miserable when you don't have to be? I figure there are so many other things going on that make us feel like crap, at least with nausea there's something they can do to help.
im seeing a midwife, havent even had my first appt with her. I actually called the office for her backup doctor, who i plan to see at least once during my pregnancy. He actually just called in a script of zofran for me, even though he didn't even see me yet.
