update on IF specialist appointment(LONG)

So glad I shaved my legs! haha :) so glad it was a painless appointment nice for a change.

U/S went like this: I have a 15mm cyst on my left ovary and a follicle left over and she is concerned that my right one has scar tissue so it may be difficult for the tube to attach the right way(still haven't a clue what this means I thought they were already attached) and she said the Right tube was futher away from my ovary than the Left tube is...my ute lining and ute itself looks good. which was a relief

Then all the questions came...did husband have S/A yet...yes she actually gave me the numbers after looking them up....what do you ladies think?? she said that he may be part of the problem as well as me

Sperm Concertration: 10 x 10e6/ml Total Sperm Count 33 x 10e6

Sperm Motility 61% Total Motile Sperm 20 x 10e6

Forward progressive motility 55%

Game Plan: Take this month off of Clomid, change my dosage for dotinex medication for my higher prolactin level, keep doing BBT and start doing OPK she is going to call me back today with my prolactin level and possibly more information. After I start my next cycle call and she will do another u/s before clomid and then another u/s on cd 12-13 and then do artifical insemination...anyone heard of any success with that? All I hear about on here is iui and ivf normally.

DH and I decided that since we are going on our honeymoon in March 18-26 we will opt to not do Artificial Insem. until april, I don't think i want to be puking on our honeymoon that we've waited two years for. :) Sure hope we are making the right decision

TTC since November 08 IUI #1-BFN March 1, 2012 Saving Break will try IUI #2 in August 1/2012-S/A wash-count low 3 million 12/30/11 Luminarium(seaweed) stuck in cervix was suppose to "naturally" open it. Surgery for retrival. 12/7/11 Met with Dr. Dougherty new RE-more testing 2/11 Decided to take a year off to save for a new RE 1/11 Cycle day 4 a/s 15mm cyst left Ovary 1 follicle left over no meds this month. 12/10 Cycle Clomid-O'd Progestrone Dostinex =BFN 11/10 HSG-ALL CLEAR & S/A-Adequate 10/10 Cycle- Progestrone and Clomid-O'd=bfn 11/09 lap-removed a lot of scar tissue/endo =not so much cramps during AF ;) 2006 Appendectomy-cyst burst on right ovary =scar tissue 2005 abnormal cells-biopsy and cells removed=scar tissue

    Congrats on having a game plan.

    I'm pretty sure by artificial insemination, your RE was referring to IUI.

    Sounds like a good game plan (and the S/A results look good, FWIW). Good luck to you!
    IUIs #1-3 (1x unmedicated, 2x Clomid) = 2 BFNs, 1 m/c at 7w3d
    IUIs #4-6 (injects) = 3 BFNs
    IVF #1 = BFN
    FET #1 = BFN
    FET #2 = BFN
    IVF #2 = BFP, b/g twins lost at 20w due to partial abruption/PPROM
    IVF #3 = c/p 5w2d
    Long-shot Clomid/Prednisone cycle before next IVF = BFP, our beautiful, healthy girl born 6/26/13!

    I guess I don't really know very much :) she said they would take tim's sperm wash it and put it in my uterus...is that IUI? is so she said it'd only cost $480 so...i thought it costed about $3000 for IUI each time...when you are oop

    Yep, that's IUI. We pay $780 for IUI, which includes two ultrasounds, the sperm wash (prepares the sperm for insemination) and the insemination itself. $480 sounds about right, but may not include monitoring ultrasounds (usually two on Clomid--one to make sure there are no cysts to start and one before ovulation to check your response).

    I think waiting until after your honeymoon sounds like the right choice for you.You know better than anyone when you are ready to take the next step. We waited about 6 months once we knew what we needed to do before moving forward. I just wasn't ready.  Best of luck to you!

    ok so me thinking that $3000 per IUI is outrageous right? cuz that's what i read somewhere been doing so much reading tho lately who knows what I've read and actually know lol she can't call back soon enough today cuz now i have even more questions :)
