Hello everybody!
I'm Ricola and TTGP is my homeboard. I just started cycle #13 today and had my first appointment with an RE yesterday. I really liked him and am happy that he seemed to really care and took his time to answer all of my questions.
He diagnosed me with luteal phase defect, which took me a little bit by surprise. My LP's are usually 11 days and I thought anything over 10 is good, but he says anything between 12 and 16 days is normal. So I will do my CD3 b/w on Thursday, schedule my HSG for next week and MH goes in for his SA this Friday. When I am at the RE's office for my HSG, I will ask for a prescription for a Progesterone supplement to start right after ovulation this cycle.
It feels good to have a plan in place and I am more optimistic again. I am sure I'll have some questions along the way and thought I'd introduce myself to you lovely ladies today - since I am lurking all the time anyway.
Have a good day!

Hi and welcome! Sorry you have to be here, but the girls here are pretty great. Hopefully you won't be here long
Have you had your progesterone checked already? I would have thought that he'd want to monitor your levels before putting you on a supplement?
Hi!
I have my CD3 b/w on Thursday and the Progesterone will be checked then. He looked at my charts and diagnosed me with LPD, since my LP is only 11 days long, and he likes to see it between 12 and 16. Since this is caused by low/-ish Progesterone, he suggested the supplements. By the time I o this cycle we will have the results of the b/w and can see how low it really is and what kind of dose would be good.
99 Luftballoons - like Nena's song? I like it.
Will he be able to tell by CD3 b/w that you have an issue with luteal phase progesterone production? Just curious, I haven't seen it done that way.
Haha yeah, like the song. Kickin' it old school
He said that usually the b/w for progesterone is not an indicator to go by alone, since progesterone varies greatly throughout the day. So if you have your blood taken at 9 am it can look too low and at 3 pm too high for example. He usually looks at the LP length and goes off of that.
I am German, so I am way too familiar with that song, hehe. It was played at every single party I went to between the ages of 14 and 25
