Trouble TTC

Calling all tight cervix's

Can anyone share any stories with tight cervix's? As I get closer to my IUI, I can't help but feel a little nervous about what I went through during my SHG. They literally had to pry me open with 5 different sized tools. It hurt so bad and I am getting super nervous about having to experience that kind of pain again.

 Thanks girls!

Re: Calling all tight cervix's

  • Ugh, I have no advice, but I'm sure that was just miserable.  I've had a baby vaginally, and it was still painful during my HSG and IUI.  I really hope things go okay for you and probably take some pain meds ahead of time.

  • If SHG's and HSG's are similar in the fact that you get them around the begining of your cycle then your cervix would be tight. But when you get IUI's you should be at the time of your cycle when your cervix is nice and open. So hopefully it won't be as bad. Good luck!

  • I know exactly how you feel, I almost passed out during my SHG it hurt so bad.  But my IUI was completely pain free.  I think for two reasons:  One, because it was mid cycle when my cervix was naturally open.  And two, the catheter was soooo tiny for the IUI.  I actually felt nothing at all and was surprised when she got up and said she was done, and soooo relieved!  GL!

This!  I have a really sensitive cervix and felt a lot of pain during my SHG and HSG.  Even though I was anticipating pain, my IUI was fine.  GL!
