Must loose some weight

When DH came home from Afghan 3 months ago I was at my pre preg weight but my body looked totally different.  Well, since he's been home i've gained 10lbs.  BOO.

We are moving in 3 weeks and I want to start fresh when we settle in.

I know i need to cut back/out my dr. pepper and eat healthier.  That isn't the problem.  I ate so good while I was pregnant but we always eat like crap when DH comes home.

Excercising is my issue.  I have no idea what to do.  I want to loose weight and tone up my belly and legs.  I loathe my legs.

I'll be limited to the gym at my apartment complex as I can't/shouldn't put DS in any group care per his surgeon till he's atleast a year and I should hold off as long as i can.

What are some things I can do for my legs given what I have to work with?

I'm not overweight.  I'm average i just want to feel better about myself.

  • My favorite things for getting my legs in shape are Pilates and running.  I have the DVD for Winsor Pilates side kick series and I love that.

Also, running is fantastic and the cardio will burn extra belly weight while toning your legs.  If you don't run, consider a  C25K program.  It's good for beginners...

I was going to suggest this as well. I have been doing the Couch to 5K program and have noticed results. I also do Zumba twice a week and ride my horse several times a week.

In the past I have done Winsor Pilates and gotten really good results from it. You could also try the 30 Day Shred DVD.

  • I adore the elliptical - as long as you're eating well and burning the right amount of calories you can drop weight quickly.

Also, most gyms have an erg. I was a rower in college and that thing works your whole body! Just make sure you use it correctly (I'm sure youtube has an example) - it makes me freak out when people sit down and start flailing around...that can be dangerous.

  • I like taking strength training classes and running---it's the quickest way to see your body tone up.
