SS Hospital experiences?

We delivered DS at the Brigham but are going with SS Hospital this time around. Wondering if anyone has any feedback on the hospital - good or bad? We had a horrible experience at B&W, so hoping for a much better experience this time! TIA!

I am almost 35 weeks pregnant and have been going to SSH for their Gestational Diabetes clinic for several months now. Obviously I have not delivered yet, but I have had wonderful experiences with every department I have dealt with. I see several nutritionists, a diabetic specialist nurse and a high risk pregnancy doctor and all of them are wonderful. I also attend prenatal water aerobics classes there and the people in outpatient rehab are great as well. I also have several friends who have delivered at SSH and all have had great experiences. I hope you have a much better experience this time around!

Im delivering at SS Hospital this May - so far I have had a few appts at the hospital and have had a fantastic experience -

the staff is extremely friendly and flexible - I valet my car right at the South Enterance and conceirge escorts me to every appt.

There is no paperwork to fill out - they are extremely organized and the hospital has been truly fantastic - I'm really excited to deliver there this May.

I've had a few friends deliver at South Shore the past few months and we all agree that we love it!!

You can call Maternity Conceirge and book a tour of the Maternity Ward - I would recommend this so that you may see the hospital and all they have to offer.

I delivered my DD at SSH 2 years ago. I had a wonderful experience there - the staff are incredible and the hospital itself is a very nice facility. I am delivering LO #2 in the next month or so and will be returning to SSH even though we have since moved and there are several closer hospitals nearby.

On the other hand, just this weekend I have heard bad things about B&W from you and a friend of mine. Interesting.....

I delivered at SSHospital and had an excellent experience. With the exception of 1 nurse, I felt extremely comfortable there and well taken care of, especially when my daughter had jaundice and they had to board me for a night for feedings. And the food is decent to boot

I had both my children there. My experiences both time were wonderful..and they were almost 5 years apart. I chose to deliver there w/DS even though we had moved and were much closer to another hospital and I'm glad I did.

Like a PP, I had appts. there, did the prenatal water class (loved it), and the 2nd time around we took DD for a 'sibling' class which she loved. I'd definitely recommend SSH - everyone was so nice there.

I had my DD at SS hospital and it was great. If you are planning on nursing then this is the best hospital to go to. Everyday they have a support group. So after you have the baby you can come back and get help. It is the best resource. You get to talk to other moms, weigh the baby and talk to the lactation consultants.

They also have a free valet service that nice for your husband and other family members who come to visit.

Thanks for posting this, OP and thanks for all the replies!

I will be delivering there in March and only had 1 reference (who had 2 kids there.) It's nice to hear lots of people had wonderful experiences.
