  Where I'm from they tell you if it's first thing in the am that nothing to drink or eat after midnight!!!!

  mine told me not to fast for the 1 hour test.  he said not to go out and eat a dozen doughnuts, but to not starve myself.

  Are you taking the 1 hour or the 3 hour?  For the 1 hour I wasn't required to fast.  I was told just to eat a high protein breakfast.  For the 3 hour, I had to fast for 12 hours prior to the test.

  For the one hour test, I was told to just eat "light" before... and then NOTHING to eat or drink after you've finished drinking the orange drink.

  I took the 1 hour test on Saturday. My doctor to come in the am without anything to eat or drink other than water. At the lab they told me I needed to fast for 12 hours.

  Ditto this. Also, while the drink didn't taste bad (like orange flat soda), it made me very nauseous. I thought I was going to loose it. So be prepared.

  For the one hour I was told to fast an hour before having the drink - the three hour was from midnight until drinking the drink.

  With my first pregnancy I was told that I was allowed to eat before the 1 hour test.  So I ate 2 hours before the test and failed it and had to go back for the 3 hour.  So personally I wont be eating anything for at least 8 hours before my test this time around!

  The same here. I wasn't required to fast for the 1 hour...actually my doctor just kinda surprised me with the test the day of my monthly visit and said "btw we are just gonna do the glucose test today since u r here" and even with a breakfast I was within normal range. But I believe its 12 hours fast for the 3 hour test.
