YEAH awesome Push Gift!!!! and a question

YEAH I am so excited I am getting my wedding ring upgraded as a push present. Yippee! I have an awesome hubby who is feeling sorry for his pathetic wife.

BUT my stupid fingers are so swollen I can't wear my ring right now. Does anyone out there know if there are anyways to decrease my swelling in my fat fingers?

OR how long after you had the baby did your swelling decrease?

Re: YEAH awesome Push Gift!!!! and a question

  • Your finger swelling will prob go away a couple weeks after baby. I have been told the swelling in your hands and feet is even worse after delivery due to all the fluids they give you in labor. Im not sure its possible for my feet to get ANY puffier, but we shall see haha

  • Most of the time I'm not a fan of push presents. But I think you gift is sweet not stupid or over the top. When we got married dh said we'd get me a better diamond latter, since we were on a tighter budget then. So I would love to get a newer/brighter/clearer rock for my ring.

The only thing to help reduce swelling would be to drink more water & lower your salt intake.

Not sure about anything else. Good luck

  • Nice! I am getting a new setting. There is nothing wrong with my center stone so we are upgrading my setting. However, my fingers are already swollen and fake ring is on. With DD I think it was 3-4 weeks after I had her that the swelling went down.

  • Mine didn't.  My engagement ring was a 6, I had to have it adjusted up to a 7.5.  We waited until this past spring (DD was 18 months) just to make sure it wouldn't go down.  It was a huge bummer.
  • I was back to wearing my wedding ring within 5 days after my son was born. Guess it was mostly water weight......
  • Thats really nice of him!

I would say just watch your salt intake, but even that doest always work since your going to retain water anyway.

PS. Dont let anyway tell you that its dumb that he got you a gift for becoming a mom or whatever! Sorry I just have to say something since people or other people on TB always have something b*tchy to say about someone eles getting something!

  • I didn't have a lot of swelling when I was pg with DD.  I had swelling after she was born.  I noticed it mostly in my ankles.  It stuck around for a week or two...

  • hmm good to know. I haven't had any finger swelling yet and was just planning on keeping my rings on but maybe I'll take them off at week 39 just in case that post delivery swelling happens... I don't know how they can cut an eternity band off???

  • With #1 I was REALLY swollen and my rings didn't fit again until 4 months PP.  But I have really tiny fingers normally, so I think it was just excess weight I needed to lose.

#2 and this one the rings fit through pregnancy  ::knocking on wood::
