Hello All, I introduced myself sometime last month and since then have become a lurker especially on weekends. Well I recently completed my first round of clomid with orivdrel trigger. I have a question that now thinking back I should have asked my RE. Anywho...
After taking clomid and orvidel should I expect my cycle to become regular? My cycle has been between 30 to 45 days for the past two years, so I am wondering if because of this should I wait until 45 days before taking a pregnancy test? Today is cycle day 32 and I have been driving myself crazy trying to decide if I should wait since my cycle is not regular. Can you let me know what you have experienced after taking clomid?
Thanks all!
Re: What to expect after first round of clomid?
Were you not monitored on clomid? How did you know when to trigger? Did they not schedule a beta blood draw? It doesn't sound like you were at least charting, either, is that right?
Not to be Debbie Downer, but that is a pretty risky course of action. Please think carefully about future cycles. https://community.thebump.com/cs/ks/forums/thread/37113868.aspx
I didn't ovulate without medication, but I did ovulate with clomid. Later than "normal" people, though, so I wouldn't have been able to take a test until somewhere around CD34. Good luck to you.
It took 5 failed IUIs and a failed IVF, but our FET worked!

hey there! i am in the middle of my first clomid cycle so i don't have the answer you are looking for but i am wondering why your RE didn't give you a day to go in for a blood test to find out if it worked?? with the ovidrel, my RE has already told me that I should do TI 36 hours after we trigger and then after the 2ww I will go in to test.
I think you need to call your RE and ask if you should test or if they can do a blood test for you. If it didn't work then you should be monitored with more u/s next round to be sure that you o'ed and ask when you should expect a blood test or AF.

I was monitored while on clomid. I went in on CD13 for u/s and b/w, u/s revealed that my follies were not big enough. My RE instructed me to return on CD16 to see if there was growth and b/w again, she noted if not we will bring on your period. When I returned on CD 16, I had one follie ready and b/w was normal. My RE told me to take the trigger during the afternoon of CD17 and of course a "relations" schedule. DH and I added a couple days to the schedule for GL : )
My mistake was not asking if and when should I test since my cycle is not normal. I asked my RE if I should chart while on clomid and she said not to worry since they routinely do b/w and u/s while taking clomid. When I did chart, prior to clomid, if I did ovulate it normally would happen between CD 16 and 18. So it would seem that it was right on target. I will make a call to my RE tomorrow and just asked...
