I had another u/s last week (I was finally released to "regular" OB appts so this was the 1st one). Everything looked great & baby had a heart rate of 171 but I was measuring exactly 1 week behind. I charted and was using CBEFM so I know when I ovulated so I don't understand how this is possible which of course makes me think the worst & that is something is wrong.
My previous u/s I was also about 1 week behind also so it looks like the baby is growing, I just don't understand the week behind thing. I go in for another u/s in 1 1/2 weeks to confirm the new EDD. Any thoughts?? If the new date is right that means this is the longest 1st trimester!!
Re: Measuring a week behind - what do you think?
Did your dr seem concerned? When I had my last ultrasound the dr took a bunch of different measurements from different angles and the baby measured any where from 6weeks to 7weeks and I was 6weeks 3 days. My ultrasound was transvaginal and the dr said it was normal for the baby to measure differently depending on the angle.
Mine measured behind about 4-5 days or so during my first 2 ultrasounds. At my NT scan last Thursday it measured right on target. Try not to stress, those machines aren't perfect. My doctor didn't seem concerned.

Thanks ladies for the input! No, my dr is not concerned at all. My next u/s is partially to confirm the due date but also to look at a white area next to the baby - this u/s didn't show it but the previous 1 did. The radiologist reading the previous 1 thought it may have been another baby that never developed. So the dr just wants to recheck things.
I guess I'm just in another waiting game. I CAN'T wait for the 1st trimester to be over! And I refuse to change my ticker until after the next u/s
I think that babies can measure a week behind or a week ahead and it not be a big deal.
At our first u/s at 7w1d, the baby measured right on target. (like you, I also know when I o'd.) Then, today, the baby measured 6 days ahead on our 11w1d ultrasound. But, the u/s tech said that it can fluctuate a lot and it was pretty normal.
