Pregnant after a Loss

Renting a beach house at 34 weeks?

I obviously have no idea what it feels like to be 34 weeks pregnant, but for you at 34 weeks, would you be up to it?

School lets out on the 21st of June, so if we get a house from 6/25-7/2, I will be about 34 weeks. I love the beach and it's close to our house (30 mins) and very close to our hospital (probably 15 mins). The house I'm looking at has AC and is right on the beach.

What do you think? Bad idea?

  • I did it at 32 weeks. I was close enough to home (2 hours) that I knew if I needed to get to my dr. it was possible. I say go for it. It is one of the last "easy" vacays you may get. Going with a baby was much more difficult this year.

  • I'd totally go for it especially since you'll be so close to home!!

I don't know what it feels like to be 34 weeks pregnant (though hopefully I will this summer) so I can't personally speak to the comfort level you'll have at that time.  I would imagine towards the end you start to get more and more uncomfortable and I'd rather be uncomfortable at the beach than in my boring house.  Just make DH do all the packing and unpacking and lugging all the chairs down to the beach everyday.

  • Meh, 34 weeks is uncomfortable, but laying on the beach all week sounds like a perfect way to spend it.  My only concern would be the heat, so just bring an umbrella and tons of water.

  • Laying on the beach right now sounds amazing.  Just make sure you aren't sleeping on a futon or air mattress and you'll be set.

  • I think it sounds like the perfect plan! Is there a pool nearby you can use in case it gets hot?

    No, it's just the beach.

Real mattresses in the house--3 bedrooms.

  • The proximity to home and hospital woulod be the main concerns, but since you're less than 30 mins from both, I say go and have fun! If we had a chance at a beach house 30 minutes away in the 34th week, I would so take it. I'd rather be a large beached  PG whale at the beach than stuck in my house Smile

  • Since it's so convenient to home and hospital, I'd say do it! And enjoy it:)
