Trouble TTC

here goes nothing!

We are about to begin my injects for the first time tonight (it's already evening here). I have to admit, I am just a little bit excited and hopeful this cycle:) It's always nice the first time you do something new to get just a bit of that beginner's hope back, you know? I have asked DH to do the injects for me. I haven't minded giving myself the ovidrel shots in the past, but I sort of feel like since we can't get pregnant by having sex, this is another way for DH to participate in the process (jabbing me in the stomach with a needle, how romantic, right?, but to each her own I guess :)
IUIs #1-3 (1x unmedicated, 2x Clomid) = 2 BFNs, 1 m/c at 7w3d

FET #1 = BFN
FET #2 = BFN
IVF #2 = BFP, b/g twins lost at 20w due to partial abruption/PPROM
IVF #3 = c/p 5w2d
Long-shot Clomid/Prednisone cycle before next IVF = BFP, our beautiful, healthy girl born 6/26/13!

Re: here goes nothing!

  • Good luck and it's nice to have hope:)  I made my DH stand in the bathroom while I did the injects so that we can experience this process together since we can't seem to do it the "normal" way!

  • Good luck! I also try and include DH in as much as possible. He gave me the Ovidrel shot and I have him make some of the appts or call for results. It's all stuff I could do on my own, but I figure he'll feel "included"

  • Good luck!  I am glad you have hope for this cycle!

MH helped me mix and draw shots.  I did the sub-q myself and he did the IM injections.  But, he was a part of the process by helping get things ready.  Since I did Lupron right after I woke up, it was nice that he had the syringe all prepped and waiting for me when I woke up.  I do agree that it can be good to keep you husband involved in some way.

  • I "made" my husband do my injections, too (if it was possible with schedules).  Not because I couldn't, but so he could figuratively "feel my pain." :)

    Best of luck to you!
