Was your DH in the room? Was it the RE or nurse who did the transfer? How long did the actual transfer take? and did you have to lay down for awhile? Thanks!

DH couldn't come for this one, but if we do it again, he'll come. As for who was in the room... I go to a university clinic so we had the nurse, the RE (who did the actual IUI) and a resident who was observing. The IUI itself took less than 5 minutes (they went really slow with the transfer because we had such a low count they wanted to make sure they got everything in). I think it took them longer to get the stupid speculum placed properly. They had me lay down for 10 minutes afterwards. And that was it. I had no cramping, and went on my merry way to work afterwards. Good luck!

DH came for the first one, but b/c of his work schedule he couldn't make the others. It all went super fast. RE did the insemination and a nurse was there also. Then like the pp I had to lay there for 10 min. afterwards. I sure would have liked dh there for the company, but oh well! I went to work after and everything was fine. I did have a little spotting after the first 2, but not after this one. Good luck!

DH has never been able to come with me for the IUI itself. After we drop off his sample, it takes 1.5-2 hours for the sample to be washed and prepared. Once that happens, they will have whichever doctor in the clinic is free come in and do the IUI (it's usually a different doctor every time and has never been my RE). There's always a nurse in the room, too. The IUI itself takes <5 minutes and then you remain lying down for 10 minutes. I've had a little spotting after all of them. Good luck!!

DH was with me. He didnt need to be, I couldnt of brought it with me but it had to be there within 45 minutes. It took about 45 minutes for the sperm washing. After that it only took about 5 minutes for the actual transfer and they had me lay there for 10 minutes afterwards. Good luck!

My H did the sample at home and I drove it in. The drive was only about 20min so I kept the bag in my sweater to keep it warm.
The wash takes about an hour.
When it's ready, they do an u/s on me to see my lining and follie size(s). Then I go into another room where the nurse shows me the sample and confirms that it's mine. I lay on a bed and they insert the speculum. That's really the only uncomfortable part for me bc it pinches a bit and is cold. I seriously never feel the catheter going in or the plunge of the sample! And that's it! I lay there for 15 or so minutes after.
Good luck toomrrow!
