OMFG DS will NOT sleep

I have been trying to get DS to go down for the night since 8 pm.  It is now almost 1 am.  I got 30 mins out of him at 10 and 30 mins at 11:45.  I am almost in tears.  DH has been snoring since 9:30.  Not to mention that I have given up on waking DH up for help during the night.  It's not worth the attitude.  I have given up and put him in the swing, but he's still awake.  And I have to work tomorrow.  I thought their sleeping habits were supposed to get better as they got older.  DS's are getting worse.  Even once he goes down, he very rarely sleeps any longer than 3 hours.

  • We're going through this too! M just went to sleep, have been trying since 8pm too, it's so frustrating.  Any suggestions would help, we have tried swaddling and she doesn't seem to like it,she has been sleeping in sleep sacks since she came home.  Hopefully we can figure this out, I go back to school next week. =o/
  • I'm sure you know all the tips and tricks, I just wanted to add that DS went through the same thing. His sleep took a nosedive, and then one night he slept five hours, and then then next four, the best he had slept since he came home. Things haven't stayed that great, but I think we're getting better. Maybe things get worse before they get better?

Hang in there, I totally feel your pain.

  • Attitude or not I'd be waking Dh up to help especially if you have work tomorrow

  • We had a rough night too right from the start.  My DH doesn't do well with this area either.  He gets too frustrated and it just makes things worse.  Those of you who can pass baby off during the night are very lucky :O)  Hang in there.  Just be persistent.  We will have sleepless night and sucky work days.  But this will pass.  It feels like forever, but it will pass.  Tonight will be better!!!
