Bad weekend

This weekend was one of the most stressful ones I have experienced in a long time - on Friday, we had the scare with the possible ectopic pregnancy. Friday night, Sarah started running a high fever and getting a cough. The night was not great and on Saturday she was on and off, cranky and okay, but turned much worse in the afternoon when she basically only cried and wanted to be held and nap on me - so unlike her! We called the nurse twice, once in the morning when it wasn't so bad and once in the evening as we were really worried. Last night was the worst we have had since Sarah was a newborn - she was feeling so bad that she only slept on me and she has never done that before. She just wanted to be held and cried every time she woke up (about every hour or so), coughing. I felt so terrible for her. Today the pedi checked her and diagnosed her bronchiolitis, which apparently is going around these days. No pneumonia (thank god), ears are clear. There is really nothing to do but wait it out and give Ibuprofen. We are all exhausted and hope for a better night tonight. I just can't take it not being able to help her.

The weather turned so nice here and we had big plans to go swimming on Saturday, to the zoo on Sunday - all didn't happen. My poor baby.

  • Aw.. poor peanut!  At least you got in to see the pedi on a Sunday!

There are plenty of other days ahead for swimming and the zoo.

  • Aw, poor baby! Bronchiolitis is no fun! We dealt with that 2 years in a row. I would spend a hour in a steamed up bathroom holding DD#1 on her side patting her back constantly to help clear her up enough to sleep.

  • Poor little girl.  And they always get sick on the weekends, never on a weekday when it is easier to get ahold of the doctor.
