I'm trying to decide how soon to tell my work. I know once I tell anyone (HR or my boss), everyone will know, so I'm not sure I want to tell too early. My first appointment isn't until 1/28 (8 weeks)...
Also, does anyone else have to travel frequently for work? Are you going to ask for this to be limited?
Thanks!

I am going to wait until 12-13 weeks. Our office policy for paid parental leave (4 weeks) requests 6 months notice when possible which I think is pretty reasonable. Plus once I start to show clearly it will be obvious.
I want to have as much time to plan since our other development person (part-time) will be on maternity leave from July - Sept and I'll be leaving in September so we may not overlap for me to transition some things to her.
I'm only in the 2ww but I have a 15 mo old that i traveled when I was pg with so figured I could chime in
I told my boss at 12 weeks and I'd already travelled a few times during that time. I continued to travel until about 7 months, averaging 1 trip/month. I bought compression hose at a pharmacy for the cross-country trips and stood up to walk the aisles ~once an hour. I found the flight attendants to be extremely accomodating (ESPECIALLY when I was back after maternity and flying and pumping!). Talk to your doc and do what you feel comfortable with at work. Congrats and good luck!
I've already shared the news with some colleagues that also happen to be very good friends of mine. One had her first last year, and another is due in July, so it's fun to have someone to go through this with!
As for work (and not just friends!), I was planning on telling my department head after my manager leaves for her maternity leave in February, but with my aforementioned friend/colleague (that ALSO reports to my manager!) pregnant, and news of yet another pregnancy in our department last week, I think I'm going to wait... News of yet another possible maternity leave may give my EVP a heart attack!
I am flying to Hawaii for vacation in February, and London for work in March. I'll actually be in London with my EVP, so may let her know then. Perfect timing, really, since I'll have just started my second trimester.
I waited until 22 weeks to notify HR and my supervisor. Basically because I was starting to show by then. I did have a business trip the week before (about a 5 hour flight each way) but that's pretty early for it to be an issue for most pregnancies. There were a few earlier trips as well. I didn't require any accommodation while at work, however.
I trust management in regards to the pregnancy, following maternity leave procedures, etc, but was not interested in my general coworkers finding out any sooner than necessary. Some are pretty obnoxious with the advice and horror stories, especially the empty nesters.
