spitting up

when do they grow out of it?  i am in the process of switching LO over to formula, and although she isn't spitting up any more than she did on bm (she spits up a lot), it's thicker, yellow, and stinky!  she is happy spitter upper, but i just hate that it gets all under her neck.

Re: spitting up

  • DS#1 spit up until he was like 7-8 months and eating more solids.  For lots of kids, once they start sitting up, it gets worse (sorry)

  • Which formula is she on now?  Noah is on Soy Similac and it is yellowish in color and smelly.  The neck cheese is much grosser now!  I have been told they stop spitting up around 6-8 months.

we started her on similac sensitive.  she has made the transition well, but formula is a lot different than bm (as far as spit up).

  • Pedi said up to 1 year.

I BF if that makes a difference.

  • DS1 had reflux, and he spit up a ton until he was between 6/7 months old.  I swear, one day it was like a light switch - he just stopped spitting up.  He went from wearing bibs all the time, to not having to worry about it!  FWIW, he started sitting unassisted/eating solids at about 5.5 months, and that was when we started to see an improvement.

DS2 also spits up a ton, so I'm counting down the days to when I think it will improve (that, and sleeping 12 hours/night like DS1 :)
