Has anyone taken their LO to the chiropractor?

Our little one is SOO fussy and cries so much (8 months old/ 5 months adjusted age).  Several people have told me that a chiropractor would help.  have you done it?  For what reason ?  How long?  Did it help?

Thanks.

  • I took DS after our car accident. He was holding his neck so I decided to take him and see if it helped. It really seemed to help. He was really relaxed during and afterwards and actually slept better for a few nights following his adjustments. He probably only went 5 or 6 times.

  • I have and it's definitely helped.
  • We take DD and have since she was a baby. When she gets a stuffy nose or is in some sort of pain she'll ask for her chiropractor. The other day they did a gentle manipulation on her neck and she went "Ahhh" (like a sigh) really loud. Everyone in the office laughed.
  • We go every other week. It started because M had so many ear infections... since we started going regularly 4 months ago no more ear infections :) I have gone since I was a baby too

  • We've taken him once and would take him more regularly if money weren't a factor (I don't trust the chiros that our insurance covers).

It was all gentle and happy and the chiropractor helped me decide to try an elimination diet to figure out his allergies.

  • I just heard about that, that it's supposed to help colicky babies...I'd like to try it, but DH is pretty anti-chiropractor...

  • I have, twice, and I think it helped a little bit. I am going to keep trying it!

  • My chiropractor was in the hospital room when I gave birth! She adjusted DD for the first time at about 30 minutes old!

I think it works WONDERS. The only ear infection K has had is when she hadn't been to the Chiro in a while (K has a HUGE head, so her neck is always, always going out).

When K gets fussy or stops sleeping well, we head in. I'm blessed that our CP (chiropractor) gives free treatment to anyone under the age of 20.

Look for someone who regularly works on children. Ask around a natural parenting store or a LLL meeting for recommendations. Message me if you have questions, I've worked as a chiropractic assistant!

  • I took LO when he was tiny because of his constant freaking out.  It ended up being food allergies, not colic, so I don't know how much it really helped, but he (knock on wood) hasn't had an ear infection yet and when I was a kid, I had such severe ones that I have hearing loss from them.  So, that's a win right there!
