Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

DH acts like he's the only person to have ever been tired

We have a 3 week old, so needless to say, we aren't getting a lot of sleep.  DS2 actually sleeps better than many (he's only up 2-3 times per night), but last night he choked a little on his spit up and it scared him, so he started screaming at 4am and would not be comforted.

DH is all, "Babe, I have to work all day tomorrow."  What does he think I do all day?  Sit in the hot tub with a glass of wine while the kids are in the pack n play??  Come on, that's only half the day.  (kidding Big Smile)

Definitely annoyed at him.  He is still sleeping before he works at 10 while I take care of the boys!  Ugh!  Men!

  • I think we are married to the same man.  I dread mornings once this baby comes.  He's been talking about what a horrible night's sleep he's gotten recently, and I keep thinking "Um, do remember having a newborn?  That was nothing."

  • Every once and a while my SO lets some extremely rude/offensive comment slip out.  Mostly about how I'm home all day how is the house not clean (or along those lines)?   I always want to strangle him when he says stuff like that.  I know he's supportive blah blah blah, but when he starts acting like he's holier than thou for going to work, I can't stand it!  Also, I do work 22 hours a week (on Sat and Sunday- yes, very long days lol) and when I come home (or even while I'm at work) he complains about how difficult it is.  I try and remind him of that when he's complaining about work or the dishes not being done. Anyways, glad I got to vent a little to on your post! :)

Vent away, sister!  My girlfriends and I have a term called "Man Helpful", which encompasses the whole "supportive blah blah blah" thing that you mentioned.  Husbands are just kind of worthless :)

  • I just wanted to peek into this post to make sure you didn't steal my husband.  "Luckily" I am working full time, so DH usually can't pull the "I have to work, you don't" card on me, but when I'm on leave for this baby, I know that will be coming out all the time.  What cracks me up is that DH works the night shift 3-4 days a week, so he gets home at 8 in the morning and is usually in bed by 8:30, 9 very latest.  He'll sleep till 3:30, then he'll BEG me to let him take a nap as soon as I walk in the door from work at 5 before he has to leave for work at 7:45.  Like, ok you just slept all day and you want to go sleep some more, even though I'm 8 months pregnant and just worked all day, but you want me to do the entire evening routine with DS while you nap.  HA!

  • lol - I just got done going to the store and cleaning the house while DH and the twins are all napping.  Not to mention that I was the one up with DS last night at 4:00am!  Granted DH does work 70+ hours a week, but c'mon.

Not to mention - men are so much grumpier when they are tired.  Seriously men:

PUT YOUR BIG GIRL PANTIES ON AND DEAL WITH IT!

  • We should start a club!! Nobody's day can ever be as hard as DH's, nobody is ever as sick as DH, DH is the only one that has to go to "work", blah blah blah....all men do is whine, I wonder where the kids get it!!
