We are pretty positive that we want a 1 syllable first name. His mn will be Sterling, which is DH's middle name. Our last name starts with an S.
DH is Blake Sterling S.
His top choice is Briggs Sterling. Thoughts? Kinda hard to say. He's obsessed with this name, and I'm not sure I like it yet.
We also like Miles, Gage, Wyatt, Cruz, Finn... short names like that. Does anyone have more suggestions?

I like Blake and Wyatt Sterling (not Cruz, would sound like three last names in a row).
Otherwise, um...Grant, Evan, um that's all I have for now.
Life Quotes
Definitely not a fan of Briggs. I do like Wyatt and what pp's suggested - Evan and Grant. Some other ideas would be:
Brett
Brent
Craig
John
Eric
Aaron
I like Miles and Wyatt best (though they both have 2 syllables).
Other one syllable names: Luke, Reed/Reid, Max...

Yay for Team Blue!
I love Briggs. I know a Briggs and he is awesome- never had any trouble pronouncing his name.
I also love Gage, Finn, and Wyatt. I see Miles too often around here. Cruz is NMS.
Other ideas:
Brent, Judd, Cash, Luke, Jake, Quinn, Keane, Hank, Ford, Shane, Jude, Cord, Bryce, Cal, Trace, Graham, Cole, Dax, Colt, Trent, Grant

I think Briggs is ok, but runs together with Sterling and is hard to say. Not my fave. My husband I also have a fondness for short names as well. Our son is Kane, and if this one's a boy, he will be Nash.
Some others:Graham, Grant, Hayes, Tate, Brock, Sean, Beau, Cade, Cael/Cale, Dane, Dean, Jude, Heath, Luke, Pierce, Rhys, Max, Vaughn, Shane, Zane, Reid, Kai
I really dislike Briggs. As others have said, Briggs Sterling sounds like a law firm. A child should have at least one first name instead of 3 surnames, IMO.
I like Miles and Finn out of the ones on your list.
What kind of name is Briggs? I can't find it on any legitimate baby name sites. Is it made up? where did you find it? I think Briggs Sterling sounds awful.
I like Finn and Gage the best from your list.
Out of your list I like Miles, Gage and Wyatt the best and I agree with other comments that Briggs Sterling sounds like a business or law firm.
Some others I like the sound of together: Ryan Sterling, Shane Sterling (3 S initials... not weird but you might not prefer it), Quinn Sterling, Brett/Brent Sterling, Cole Sterling.
I like Miles, but I would avoid it since the middle name starts with S. For that, and other reasons, I would avoid Briggs as well.
Cruz is super trendy right now.
Finn is cute I guess, but it sounds like a nickname to me. I prefer Flynn.
Gage Sterling sort of sounds like a jewelry theme to me. Like you are trying to gage how sterling a ring is, or something. I know that's not something you really do, but any verb is going to sound akward with a noun/adjective middle name like Sterling.
So let's see what's left? Wyatt! Oh, good, because that's probably my favorite of all of them. It's so cute, and I think it fits perfectly with Sterling. I see you are from Houston. I think Wyatt Sterling is the perfect name for a little Texan!
Other ideas:
Flynn Sterling S________ (like I said before)
Rhett Sterling S________
Reid Sterling S________
Cole Sterling S________
Seth Sterling S________
Dean Sterling S________
Sean Sterling S________
I like Wyatt the best from your list. I actually don't think Briggs is a terrible name. Its unique, and although its nms, I understand what you're going for. I, too, and sick of all the Jacobs, Lucas, Aidans, and Calebs.
However, I don't like the combination of Briggs with Sterling, which I why I would vote for Wyatt.
Also, I am a teacher and know the cutest little boy named Reid (or Reed if you prefer).
I also know a lot of cute Colemans (Cole) and Coltons (Colt). I know those are not one syllable first names, but their nn would be!
