I used to have a nanny and was paying around $10.00 an hr which ended up becoming very expensive since I needed her full time for my 2 children. I was paying around $1600 a mth but it was so convenient. I hired her off of sittercity.com and was able to do all my background checks and reviews on there... but most nannys I saw was charging $10 and up and hour... And $10 was really the bare minimum that I saw.
I used to work professionally as a nanny in the Troy/Birmingham area. It's an expensive area, so the rates are higher than some other places. The normal range for someone experienced is $12-$15/hr. You could probably find someone less experienced or in college for $10/hr. Good luck!
