If you are a 2nd+ time mom, what do you have for a swing and do you like it?
I am conflicted. I have been leaning towards getting the bright starts cradle and sway swing through Target but not sure I want to spent $130 on a swing. I like the option of two ways to swing so I looked at the fisher price model since it is less expensive but it doesn't get very good reviews. And even though I like the option to cradle and swing I am not sure if it is really $130 worth it if I can get just a one way swing for half that cost....
Anyone have advice to give?
Re: Talk to me about swings...2x+moms
With DD1, we bought her a $20 bouncer from Wal-Mart. For this one, we bought a Boppy swing from Salvation Army for $7. (Practically brand new)
Before you spend big money on swings/bouncers, look around to see if you can find second hand. You don't know if LO is going to appreciate the swing or bouncer at all and it would really suck to spend that kind of money to never use the thing.
I already went around to consignment stores around me and checked out craigslist. Everything that people have out there is complete crap. I have been thinking of possibly waiting a little longer and being patient to see if something comes up but since I am 35wks I do not know how much longer I want to put it off.
BTW, this swing still plays music and has different speeds.
I didn't have one til DD was 5 weeks old. We bought the fisher price my little lamb and I bought it on walmart.com for only $99 with no shipping. The motor is a little loud but that thing was a LIFE SAVER! She would sleep in it or just rock and watch the mobile so I was able to shower or do a load of laundry and not worry about her.
I highly recommend a swing. I had a bouncer, too, and she hated it- never used it. everytime I laid her in it she threw a fit! No idea!
I saw the FP little lamb cradle swing on Amazon yesterday for $104 with free shipping.
We borrowed a swing with DD, and I used it when I had to pump while she was awake. She started trying to climb out of it around 6 months, but it was worth it up to that point.
This is what we used for dd and will be using w/ this lo also. It is super convenient and would highly recommend this especially if you are looking to save some dough.

I have the same swing. DD loved it and I can't wait to put DS in it as well.
