Pregnant after a Loss

Pack and play question

For those that are planning on using this as a bassinet at first, are you going to put the baby in the newborn napper section on top? Or in the actual pack in play. I was planning on putting him in the newborn napper area, thinking it will be easier to nurse. Curious to see what others think, thanks!

Re: Pack and play question

  • Mine didn't come with anything special that goes on top, so I'm just planning to use the bassinet/shallow part for baby at first. We were also given an actual bassinet that we're using in our bedroom and the PNP will be downstairs.

  • We were goin to put him in the napper part, but after seeing a newborn in there (my bff's) itt made me nervous so we'll be using that part to change diapers while I'm still sleeping downstairs

  • I read on this excellent blog from a mom giving opinions on all manner of baby products (https://www.lucieslist.com/5-sleeping/) that you definitely need to use the Newborn Napper feature in the beginning. Since I've never been there yet, I am definitely taking her advice!

  • Planning on the newborn napper for now.

  • I'm guessing the newborn napper section is like the bassinet section of it. Molly will stay in that portion for a while, then we will move her to the bottom. A man at BBB told us that if LOs are sleeping in them, there needs to be a mattress inside of it. Since we have one with a newborn napper in it, we got a mattress (Bout an inch thick) for about $45. I actually feel a lot better about her sleeping in it long term that way. :)

  • I used the Pack n play for DD. I used the bassinet feature. The diaper changer that you  attatch I would NEVER put LO in to sleep OMG the kid would roll out!. LO's move a lot and there is no way I'd put LO in only that.

I won't be using the PNP this time for a bassinet. When I would have to roll over to get DD to nurse it would kill my back. So this time I am borrowing my BFF's AMy co-reach bassinet. PNP was a pain literally!!!
