As you already know we were approved for the money needed with two banks. We took the same amount from the one bank, but when it came to accepting the loan from the other bank I couldn't do it.
Something is going on with me and I am actually going with my instinct.
I moved IVF from FEB to March.
I scheduled a consultation with the RE for Jan 27th.
DH's sperm results are considered "above average"
I am wondering if perhaps an IUI with the RE would be the answer. Why? My OB doctor did IUI with no monitoring and did not address my PCOS and poor lining. I am wondering if IUI would work for us now.
I am curious to see if the RE will agree with me or will she tell us IVF is our only hope.
After lurking on other boards I am scared to death because we only have money for one IVF...and as we all know the 1st IVF may not be the answer.
Am I crazy for wanting to do IUI again?
Re: Not feeling the IVF vibes...playing doctor....wanna play?
My thought is you have to do what you're comfortable with and what your gut tells you. My SIL was in the same position, the RE said the only way they were ever going to get pregnant was with was IVF and something told her to wait and they ended up getting KU'd on their own, unfortionately it was an ectopic pregnancy but it was the first one they were able to obtain despite MANY IUIs. I also think you should listen to your gut because is it is a LOT of money, emotions, injections, and time involved. If you're not totally ready, I think you'll be a mess.
Good luck!

I don't see any reason not to try another IUI. I know a girl on the boards who had PCOS - clomid never worked very well for her - even with IUI. She tried injects and TI and got pregnant. They would have tried injects with IUI next if that hadn't worked.
I think it sounds very reasonable to me, why not give it a go. Monitoring is critical IMO and that could be all you need. Good luck!!
Aren't you using SGFC? Why aren't you doing shared risk?
Also, maybe you should also look into IF funding through grants..

Thank you ladies for your support. I am definitely taking my time on this one. I feel like I have been pushing to hurry things along....not the case now.
Suntoto thank you for the links. I am going to look into these links tomorrow. When you say "shared risk" are you referring to programs that for an example allow you to pay for ie " 4 IVF cycles" up front at a discounted price? I applied to one of those programs called "Attain IVF" and was approved for one of them, but it would cost us $6,000 extra and we don't have that.
I think I will know what direction I need to go after we meet with the RE.
I will keep you posted.
