Nesting

So I am ready to nest now that we know the sex of this LO. I don't have to really doing any shopping, since this is a boy as well, and all our stuff from DS was gender nutural (we were team green). So today I bought a quilt pattern I can make for my new LO. I figured it will keep me busy and not wanting to buy a bunch of crap we don't really need. Anyone else feeling like this??? I just needed a project that will take me a while to finish, figured this is a good one, and I love to sew.

Re: Nesting

  • Wish I could sew - I would so love a project like that! I think I'm going to try my hand at curtains eventually - figured of all the nursery gear, that was the easiest, and I'll have the other pieces made.

We are in major nesting mode though. Each weekend we've tackled a DIY project around the house. Lots of cleaning out and reorganizing to do to make room for baby. Stuff we've needed to do for awhile anyways, but now the baby serves as motivation to get it done!

  • Everyone has to start somewhere. I am a self taught seamstress. Just start with a cheaper sewing machine, if you don't have one. And like yo said start with something small. Then you can move up to patterns! Its super fun. I even make these great balls for babies. They call them grab balls. Maybe I will whip one up soon and post a pictue of it on here. Good luck with the cleaning!!!
  • I got a sewing machine from my mom a couple years ago and havent used it for much...yet. I'm holding off for a bit because I am really needing to work on a course I'm taking and I know that as soon as I pull out the sewing machine all bets are off lol.
