We want to get DD a gift for when she comes to the hospital to meet her baby sister, DD is three. Anyone eles doing this and ny suggestions on what to buy?
I've heard of this, but I didn't really think about doing it. (DD will be 6 by the time this one comes along.) I might get her a "Big Sister" outfit since she's obsessed with clothes. lol
Maybe a teddy bear or babydoll that she can "take care of" just like Mommy's taking care of baby?
It came from a cousin but my DD got a Moby wrap as a big sister gift (it's a little one made to carry dolls.) DD loves that she can carry her babies in the sling just like mom will carry the baby.

My parents did this when i was a little girl. they gave us just something we needed like a shirt, hat or slippers. I still to this day have one of the slippers that my baby brother "gave" me.
I (the baby) gave our son a gift when his sister was born. I already have the gifts for my two older children packed in the hospital bag, for when this little one comes out. We are giving my son(10) a winter Cubs hat and our daughter(5) hello kitty slippers each wrapped and instead of a bow we used pins that say big sister/brother.

We are doing this from ours too. He loves dogs and there was a cute one on the Build A Bear site that we ordered for him from the baby. I also ordered the little musical glow worm thing for him to bring to the baby when he comes to see him for the first time.
We ae doing this... we recently went to Sesame Place and my DD wanted a big Zoe stuffed animal and we had already let her pick out one gift, so I went back in the store when DD was with DH and bought it, putting it aside for DS to "give" her when he is born. She is going to be thrilled! I just realized that she has either a stuffed doll or collectable figure of every character except Zoe and she asks about it still.

We're going to get DS a shirt that says "Big Brother" on it and a book, hopefully one about being a big brother.
DS made his little brother a teddy bear while we were at Build A Bear last week, and he's getting him a shirt that says "Little Brother" to bring to the hospital when he comes to visit.
My suggestion would be something that will keep her busy. My kids love to get the Color Wonder books and markers or the Melissa and Doug Jumbo Coloring Pads/Sticker Pads. They're not expensive but really hold their interest.
I am getting my 5 year old a dress and her first big girl necklace (a disney rose quartz heart pendant) from our LO and her 11 year old brother some Pokemon cards or figurines
For Bryce Addison and all of heaven's smallest angels
We had an extra Christmas gift.... a big tent, that we saved to give DS when the baby is born. I wanted to get something and that he can play with by himself. He also picked out a baby toy for the baby that we will wrap up for the baby's "Birthday".

I love these two beautiful children!
Baby will probably give DS a game or two for the Leapster that he's getting for his birthday a few weeks before. He's already got the big brother shirt and a baby to take care of.
My DD will be 2.5 this time around. I planned to get her the Fisher Price Kid Tough camera, so that she could take her own photos of the new baby along with everyone else. Unfortunately, I mentioned it to my mom and she gave it to her for Christmas!!! I think I will order her a cute Big Sister bracelet instead, since she is starting to get into jewelry.

The gifts we are giving are from the baby AND us, because my 4 year old questioned how the baby could go shopping and pick something out for her. ;-P
To 4 year old DD - I'm a Big Sister by Joanna Cole (updated version), new big sister t-shirt because she outgrew her first one
To 2 year old DS - I'm a Big Brother by Joanna Cole (also updated version), big brother t-shirt
DD picked out a new blankie and a sleeper for the two of them to give baby brother at the hospital when they meet him.
