We transferred 2 beautiful embies ![]()
We got there about an hour before the appt so we grabbed some lunch. Then, when we went up to the office, we found out they were running about an hour behind schedule. So, they told me to just randomly let out my pee as I needed and to keep drinking. So, I did. I even told them that I have a very weak bladder and really can't hold it long.
Here are some tips:
- Don't
eat at least 2 hours before-hand. The angle they tilt you at makes it so
that your lunch can come back up on you. There were several times I
actually felt it at the back of my throat and came really close to
puking. ![]()
- Get your bladder as full as possible. If it's not, they will fill it. Now, this doesn't mean they will make you chug water, no, they will take a catheter and basically pump water ( or saline solution) up through your pee hole into your bladder. Not.fun.at.all !
- If they don't listen to you when you say you have a weak bladder and thus start "leaking" (basically peeing out the solution they just pumped into you) , well, that's their own fault for not listening when you say that it's weak.
Here are a pic of my lovely embies that are now relaxing inside my ute ![]()

it's that in each life some rain falls but you also get some sun.

That's great news! Good luck!
Thanks for the tips! I'll definitely remember that about not eating...although to be honest if this cycle is a bust and we move on to IVF I will probably be too nervous to eat anyway!
And I'll bet they wish they had listened to you a little more carefully about the weak bladder issue!

SAIF/PAIF Welcome
Lots of love and luck to my PAIF/3T/IF Veteran ladies, especially my dear friend Zookie. Congrats to Papps, Teach84 and Starbuck on their little ones.
Thanks ladies !!
It was awful !! I kept asking them if they were done yet ( like a little kid asking "are we there yet?' ). As soon as they inserted them and verified that the tube was clear, I LITERALLY ran across the hall to go pee. I just really hope I don't end up with a UTI ( or bladder infection) as they had to basically go backwards through the urinary tract.

Those look great! 2 good embies is awesome!
Lots of luck to you!
Stick embies stick!
I actually thought them pumping the water in by catheter was better than sitting there having to pee for ever before getting called back. At my clinic they make you lay for 30 minutes before you are allowed to use the bathroom after transfer. So, with my second transfer I had them relieve my bladder. I was in too much pain for that 30 minutes the first time around.
Good luck!!

Oh gosh!! That all is sounding a little scary to me right now. Guess it's better to know ahead of time.
I am so happy for you and those embies look great!!! Stick little ones, stick!!!
I actually asked them if they needed me to stay laying down and when they said no, I warned them that I was going to take off running as soon as they got all their tools out of me. Having them relieve my bladder would have been a much better option !
