talk to me about light carseats

Who wants to recommend their lightweight car seat? I don't really care about all the high tech/safety features so much as I care about if I'm going to be able to carry both car seats up THREE flights of stairs to our apartment. And the lowest price wins.  :):)

    the regular graco snugride is one of the lighter ones- and has great safety ratings.

    you can see the specs for each car seat online- they always list the weight.

    as for the stairs - 3 flights is insane... and dangerous - are you guys looking to move? I would not want to live 3 flights up for long with twins.

    Just to be honest, they are all pretty heavy especially once the babies get to be over 10-12 lbs.   And once they are over 20 lbs? Forget it. 

     

    We used Graco Snugrides and they were bearable until my kids turned 9 months and then I could barely lift them.  My daughter was just over 17 lbs and my son was just over 20 lbs at that time.

    Ditto the snugride.  Esp the snugride 22.  Make sure you get the one that has the shoulder strap adjuster in the front, though.  A bunch of them only adjust in the back. Blech.

    We also got the Snugrides.  Aside from good safety ratings in Baby Bargains, it was also rated as the lightest weight, but as PP said they are still heavy.  Looks like we will all be building up our biceps!

    Thanks for the help! We will only be living on the 3rd floor for the first 5 months, then hopefully getting a house. Lease isn't up until 5 months after they are born, so we're stuck building great biceps for 5 months. :)

    We also live on the 3rd floor walk-up, in a Condo.  That has actually been my main concern.  Especially if I'm by myself.  I think that I may have to put one in a baby bjorn, and carry the other one on my hip (or in my arms if s/he is too small).  I just don't know if I can carry 2 carseats up 2 flights of stairs with my purse.
