Oh the irony...stroller story

I have always felt a smidge guilty about using the stroller because DS feels so far away, hard to talk to him, etc. and I usually put him in the RS or Ergo. Well, with the New Year came my resolution...I am going to get back to regular exercise and try to get back to running. I stopped running in the first trimester and have had a really hard time finding enough balance in my life to make time for me. Well....last weekend I broke out the jogging stroller and DS LOOOOOOVES it. We went out walking/running for an hour on Saturday and Sunday and each time he cries when I push the stroller into the house. I have to keep it folded up or he will literally climb into it and say "go go, vroom vroom" (imagine vroom vroom mixed with a raspberry sound, very funny!). As a matter of fact, I just caught him climbing into because DH didn't fold it up. Now I have no excuses not to go running lol!

  • I am so happy to hear this because as much as I love BW I feel really dumb at the moment that we bought a really expensive (parent facing) stroller; it needed to fit in our trunk, and be easy to travel with so we had few choices. DD hates it! I hope that when DD gets older she will like it again and this gives me hope :-) Good luck on the exercise, I know how hard it is to find time for it.

  • Good for you!!  We also spent a good amt of money on a jogging-ish stroller that I hope to one day get some use out of.  I've gone on a few 2-3 mile power walks with it, but that's about it.  My ultimate goal is to run a 5k with it.  :)

  • Good for you!!  DH and I saw a few people recently out with jogging strollers and he expressed an interest in getting one as he likes jogging (although he didn't like the price when I told him that they weren't cheap...)

I wish that DS liked the stoller. We have a Chicco one and he really doesn't care for it.  He'll hang out for maybe 15-30 min and then wants out. :(

  • And it is like your DS is your work-out buddy! I know that I am more successful in sticking to an exercise goal when there is somebody else counting on me...
