18 month check up: I win!!

Um I mean the pediatrician was really happy with Matt's language progress.  Matt is at 30+ words not including ones only DH and I understand.

Matt is at 80% height, 5% weight, 15% head.

The dr. was not worried about his weight after seeing how active he was.

This was the first time I left his office not feeling like I was failing Matt. I feel like I got an A+ from a really difficult professional.

The icing on the cake was when he asked when DH and I were going to have another!

Professional was supposed to be professor.

    That's great that Matt has so many words now but what the hell is up with your pediatrician thinking there was a problem???  Simon is almost 16 months and has NO words except uh-oh (not even mama and dada) and my pedi said he's developing normally!  (at least that's what she said a couple weeks ago during a sick visit, we'll see what she says on Monday in his 15-month checkup)  Is your pedi following recommended guidelines for child development or are those his own personal standards?  Also, physically Simon is basically at the same percentages as Matt for height, weight and head, and my pedi likes the fact that he's skinny, she says fat babies have a higher risk for diabetes, etc.  Just interesting how different pediatricians can be.
