Cramping Question

I know that some slight cramping is normal, I am just wondering how much cramping everyone else is experiencing. I get some cramping on my right lower side and usually only get it when I am at work, is that weird? I am the manager of the cash office at a grocery store and have to open up a register or bag when it gets pretty busy. This is when I feel them. Should I maybe not do this anymore and try to take it easy at work??

  • I wanted to ask this exact question.  I remember some cramping from the first time, but I am feeling lots of cramping today and am nervous.  I also get the lower right side pain too.

  • It could be the side of the uterus that baby implanted into or it could be that you're overworking round ligaments on that side of your belly.

  • i am having exactly the same pain only it's in my lower left side.  i have no bleeding or anything like that, and the pain isn't unbearable, but it is still  freaking me out.  it hasn't been that long since i did this - you'd think i would remember - but i don't think  my RLP was all in one spot with DD1...

it sucks that my mind jumps to the worst conclusion (miscarriage, ectopic) every time i feel anything.  it is exausting to be so riddled with anxiety.

i will be stalking this post.

This is exactly what I thought of. I have never had an ectopic pregnancy so I keep thinking that maybe what I am feeling may be just that. I read an article that said most women get this cramping and it is usually the cause of the ut and the muscles getting ready for the baby and that most women should take it as reasurance that everything is going as planned. I just can't let mind do this though. I don't know how much or how little is supposed to be reasurring and when I should start to worry. Thank god I go to the doc on Monday, I don't think I can take much more of this. lol

But, I still have a little fear that when the ultrasound screen comes up I won't see the yolk sac that I am so preciously praying for.

  • I was about 4 weeks back in October when I started getting cramping on the lower right side.  I figured it was normal.  Finally after about a week or so I contacted the Dr.  They made me go in asap for an ultrasound, worried that it could be etopic (which is very dangerous).   They did rule it out but I later misscarried.  The cramping really went undianosed.  The Dr. never could pinpoint what it was.   He never said nor do I believe the cramping and the misscairage were related.  I think the main thing is if you are having these pains on one side.  Go in for an ultrasound to make sure everything is ok and to give you peace of mind.
  • My doctor told me that as long as the cramping isn't stopping you in your tracks or has you doubled over in pain that I shouldn't really worry about it. I cramped a lot in the beginning of my last pregnancy with my son and everything went smoothly. This pregnancy I haven't noticed as much cramping. My son is only 9 months old so I'm assuming its because my uterus is somewhat stretched out now.

I doubt they'll tell you to stop doing things at work unless you're lifting heavy items or working at a dangerous job. I overdid it about a month ago and had some weird cramping and was scared I was going to lose the baby and my doctor said to just lay down and take it easy until the cramping stopped and after an hour or so I was fine. Every time I get worried I bust out my fetal heart doppler and listen to the heartbeat and all is well in the world again.
