Little Update on Me, since I went MIA

Hey ladies,

Sorry to have bailed on you. Sometimes it's just better to take a Bump Break than lose your mind, yes?

So, I'm now 1 week away from my biggest milestone. A combination of V-Day and "more pregnant than I have ever been" day. Next Sunday will be a big one.

This coming Thursday is also what should be my Annaliese's second birthday. I'll be 23w4d, which is yet another uncomfortable coincidence. There's just been too many in this pregnancy.

I have an appointment yesterday. The good news is that my cervix is long and closed, and that there is plenty of amniotic fluid. James is growing well, and weighs 535 grams (Google tells me this is 1lb, 2oz) His heartbeat was kind of low yesterday at 134, but the Dr tells me that he's probably just sleeping and its normal. They don't start to worry until it goes below 115.

He also said... "Because there's no evidence that you can carry to full term, we're going to bring you in every 2-3 weeks to monitor you" So, I'm going in for yet another ultrasound on Feb 2. I know I should feel better about the situation, but it's hard to stay positive at this point in time.

So, that's my past week or so in a nutshell. I'll try to be around a bit more, but truthfully, I'm Debbie Downer, so if I go MIA again, that's why.

Hey there. I think about you often, and am glad to hear things are going well - aside from difficult milestones. James is a great name! Hopefully these next weeks will go by quickly. Take care..

I also wanted to let you know that I've had 2 or 3 appts where LO's heart rate was in the 130s like that. Then the other day, we had an appt later in the day, and it was in the 150s. So, your doc is probably just right about him sleeping. I hope that gives you some reassurance. It sounds like things are going well for you and James.
