Class/play place for 14month old??

Ds#1 is very active and adventurist, he is 14months old and im looking for some class or play place I can take him to a few times a week. I had ds#2 a week ago and still recovery, so I really can't play with him very much without hurting. any suggestions in portland/beaverton atea? I do take him to washington square kid area once a week but it still is a lot of work physically for me. So im looking for a place where I can almost drop him off for an hour.

  • Munchkin Playland! Sounds like the perfect place for you. It's in Beaverton (Or I guess it's technically Portland) at 185th and West Union. There is a big fenced in areas (similar to Wash Sq play area) and the place is a cafe. So you can order a coffee or soda (and lunch too!) and sit while he plays. It's fantastic! https://www.munchkinplayland.com/

I was also going to recommend Pump It Up, they have a toddler play time. But, since you can't play too it would probably not be a good idea. But I totally recommend MPL!

  • We had a lot of fun at the OMSI play area today.  It's $70 for a year membership, and I'm sure we'll be there often.  There is a 0-24 month are that is protected from the bigger kids, so it's perfect!
  • We take DD to the drop-in gym times at the parks and rec community center by our house. It?s cheap ($1) and she can play off a lot of energy. It?s not supervised, though, so you have to be there. There may be something similar at community centers or churches in your area.

Sorry, I can?t think of any place with drop-off play times. It seems like all the classes for kids under 2 or 3 require a parent. Maybe you could find day care that charges by the hour?

It?s not near your house, but there?s Ikea. I?m not sure what their age limit is for their child care, but you could drop #1 at the play area and walk #2 around the store. I used to go there for walks when the weather was bad.

GL! I can only imagine how hard it is to keep #1 busy and happy with a newborn. If you find a place, please report back and let us know! I?d love to know about a place like that!
