My ER was at the hospital that my RE is affiliated with. They were supposed to call me yesterday with the fert. report but got too busy. So, I called my RE's office around 3:30ish. When the nurse said she didn't know much about what it said, well, that was an understatement. She told me that I had 12 retrieved, 6 were mature & 5 fertilized. So, 5 of 6 isn't bad ( since you really can only look at the # that were mature). Wrong. Apparently all 12 were mature so only 5 of 12 fertilized. I asked hospital nurse what the normal fert. rate is & she said 70%. Well, mine were 42%. I know I still have those 5 but it just makes a huge difference when you know that not as many fertilized that "could". I mean, if I had the normal 70% rate, 8 would have fertilized. I would definitely be at a 5dt & would most likely have snobabies to spare. Now, no friggin clue. It also takes me from being on a high of thinking I had a 83% fert rate to practically half that value ![]()
I honestly think that if someone doesn't know what they are talking about, they shouldn't say anything at all. ::sigh ::

That is terrible. I'm so sorry. ((HUGS)) I agree, when people don't know what they are talking about they should stay quiet. Ugh.
That being said, it doesn't really affect your chances this cycle. You still have 5 embies growing and you just have to wait to see about those. I really hope this is your cycle! Sending growing vibes to your embies!
On the other hand, if this isn't your cycle, this is something to have your RE address. Did you do ICSI? If not, would that help? Do you need to change up your protocol (there are studies about protocols that have higher fert rates)?
Good luck!
