Do you feel movement every day?

I have just recently (the past few days) started to feel her move, but today I haven't felt anything.  Is it normal not to feel something every day?

Re: Do you feel movement every day?

  • I just started to feel her every day. When I first started feeling her, I felt her two days in a row, then not for a few days.  I don't think it's weird to not feel her every day.

  • I have felt movement consistently for the last three days, but before that, it was very sporadic, and I wasn't even sure it was movement. Even now, it's not very regular. I think it's normal to not feel the baby every day at this point -- some people haven't even felt the baby at all before 20 weeks.

  • It's very normal. Especially in the beginning of feeling movements. I've felt mine every day for the last three days, but before that I had gone about three or four with nothing. Sometimes I find if I eat a meal and then lay or sit still I can feel it more. Hope that helps. Smile

  • Yep, normal for now. Later on (not sure exactly when but I'm thinking close to 3rd tri) the doctor will want to know if it's not every day but for now, it's normal!

  • I feel movement every day.  Yesterday was like a dance party.  It's definitely not odd to not feel movement every day at this point.

  • The first 2 weeks of movement were very sporadic, and I'm sure I went several days without feeling it. It picks up quickly though, and now I feel it any time I sit or lie down, pretty much.

  • I feel a lot of movement some days and others little to none. My Dr. said that I shouldn't worry about feeling consistent daily movement until around 28 weeks. That's when he recommends starting kick counts. I love days where I feel my little man moving a lot :)

  • Totally normal! I don't feel movement every day. And some days it's much stronger than others. I wouldn't worry :) It's still early!

  • *Big Sigh* I honestly have no idea.... I think I feel him move some days, and then days will go by abefore I feel what I think are movements again. It's so frustrating to not know if it is movement, my movement feelings are all different... bubbles, kicks, rolling..I have felt all those kinds of things.. but very sporadically.. :(
  • You guys are killing me!  I'm so jealous.  I haven't really felt my baby move yet and I'm 18 weeks!  I've felt a couple things but I have no clue if its baby or not!  Everyone tells me about flutters, buzzing, etc. and I really just have no clue.  This is my first, if you couldn't tell, haha!

I know the movement is coming soon though!

  • I've just recently begun to feel him every day.  And I usually only feel him consistently in the evenings.  Sometimes I feel him throughout the day, sometimes not.  After I first felt movement, I'd go 2 or three days without feeling anything.

  • I feel her every day. Some days a lot (10 plus times). Yesterday and a few days ago I only felt her once or twice.
  • When I first started feeling her, it wasn't every day.  Now I definitely feel her every day, and at similar times.  And the movement is a lot more obvious.

  • I only started to feel a little bit of flutters some 3 days ago. Yesterday, sadly I didn't feel much at all and I was sad =(

Today, I thought I felt some but I can't be sure.

I can't help but be a little worried. I can't wait until LO moves everyday.

  • My doctor told me I wouldn't feel him everyday yet...I can't wait til I do though!!
  • I feel the baby all day/night every day and have for about two weeks now.  But second+ time around moms always experience things earlier.  :)

  • I'm so jealous of you all! I have no clue what movements are baby, and what movements are gas... and almost everything I'm eating gives me that precious gift right now...

My poor DH doesn't understand why his sister, who's EDD is 5 days ahead of mine, has been feeling movement for the last 2 weeks and I can't. I tried to explain that a 3rd pregnancy is different from a first, and that she knows what she's feeling and I just have no clue.

oh well, here's hoping my baby girl starts making her presence known soon!!!

  • When I first felt him/her kick it was 1-3x a day now its pretty constant.

  • When I first felt the baby move, I only felt it 1-2 times and I was second guessing myself. But just this week, I've begun to feel him/her every day. It's not at the same times, but often I feel it more when I'm sitting upright in a chair or sitting on the couch with my legs up. Ditto PP who mentioned feeling the baby after eating a meal & relaxing.
