3rd Trimester

nbr but I'm going to kill my cat.

I have no voice, and haven't for a week. She has figured this out, and has decided that she can do whatever her little heart desires because a.)mommy can't yell at me, and b.) mommy's on bed rest so she can't get up every time I get on the counter and push a grapefruit onto the floor to play with, or just to hang out on the counter, or walk or the glass tabletop, leaving my little kitty prints all over it.

Little brat...

Re: nbr but I'm going to kill my cat.

  • A few weeks ago I reallllllllllllly wanted to get rid of our cat. He went through a stage, for about 2-3 weeks, of meowing upstairs every freaking morning at like 5am, and it woke DS up for the morning.

  • Haha... I could hear my cat knocking stuff off the counter as I read that.  They are so mischievous, lol.

  • What you need is a water bottle to squirt her when she's a bad girl! Also, a can filled with pennies to shake if you can't reach her with the water bottle.

    Darn cat!!

  • 2 words- spray bottle. it shoots right across the room. there is no yelling and cats hate them. eventually all you have to do is show them the bottle and they go running.

We've tried the spray bottle with her. She used to run from it, but now it's only the threat of mommy coming over that gets her off. She won't even run if my BF comes over to get her off.

I'm going to try the jar of pennies thing though, that might work.

    Thanks!

  • Two words: spray bottle

Get one and fill it with water. Next time her lil furry butt comes prancing in the room, squirt her.
  • yeah we have a stubborn cat as well and sometimes she doesn;t run when I spray her. SO I continue to spray her until she doesn't like being soaked. Also, may sound mean, but I get her right in the face. That works the best for us. The penny idea sounds like a good one too.

Lol. Me either. Because whenever I yell at her in about 20 minutes she always ends up cuddling with me. My furbabies are so spoiled.

  • I got this https://www.contech-inc.com/products/stayaway/  and my cats never go on the counter any more. I don't even need to buy the refill air canisters anymore because they learned pretty quickly that there was a scary thing on the counter!
  • Mine loves to knock stuff off of the counter too but mostly in the bathroom in the middle of the night like my blow dryer or hair brush.  The spray bottle does not really bother her so I gave up on that.  However she has learned when mommie snaps her fingers to stop what she is doing.  Also the threat of throwing a pillow at her works.  If you try the spray bottle also add a bit of vinegar to it.  I hear that if they get sprayed with water they just lick it off and go about theri busines but the vinegar will give it a nasty taste and they do not like that and will eventually associate the water bottle with a nasty taste and stop the bad bahavior.  They are such curious animals though so not all things work for each cat.

  • Yeah my cat is getting on my last nerve!!! Last night she kept trying to stand on my stomach, so I kept moving her little feet off of me, and she finally just clamped her fangs down on my hand!!!! She is not a mean cat whatsoever so I have no idea what is going on.  So today it looks like I belong with the Twilight cast....

Then this morning while I was getting ready for work she would NOT stop crying.  She had litter changed 2 nights ago, food dish was full, and water was fresh.  Still not sure what would have stopped her from crying.  Ugh.  She is getting really bad, who knows what will happen after LO arrives!

  • I found out my youngest cat is a jewelry thief, specifically with my wedding ring. If I leave it in the bathroom or on any counter he searches it out and steals it. He also hit my pearl earrings down the bathroom sink two days ago so DH has to retrieve them.

Oh, and I just found out today that he has started stealing things out of the bathroom garbage like q-tips and a plastic toothbrush wrapper and hoarding them underneath his bed. Hmm

I was going to buy this, although not sure if it was the same brand. I was going to put it on the bathroom counter and also one near the baby's room door so they won't go in. I figure it was a lot easier then trying to catch them in the act.

Yes, the troublemaker also does this. She also tried to steal my necklace pendant right off my neck.

And she loves q-tips. We have to throw them away in our kitchen garbage because even if we put the bathroom garbage under the sink, she can open the doors.
