Hi Ladies,
I have asked questions on here a couple of times before about my PCOS dx and bloodwork but I thought I should do a real intro.
DH and I have been trying for a year now, without success. I started temping and charting a few months ago and my charts indicate ovulation. A previous dr. diagnosed me with PCOS based on bloodwork and physical symptoms but no cysts. (I had breakthrough bleeding one time, but aside from that I have normal periods). I just went to my new OBGYN yesterday and she wasn't totally convinced of the dx based on the bloodwork. I'm having new bloodwork done and DH is getting a SA (he had a varicocele in the past, so our issues may be here). Strangely, at the end of the appointment the dr. started suggesting metformin and wanted to write a script right there, even though I haven't had any blood work showing it's necessary (is that common?!).
Anyway, that's my TTC bio. As for NTTCR: I am a grad student. DH and I recently moved to Chicago and we bought a house this summer that we are slowly renovating.
Thanks for reading, if you made it this far!
Re: 3T Intro!
First of all, welcome to Chicago! Hope you're enjoying the city so far...and putting on your Bears hat for Sunday
You definitely want to see an RE to see if s/he agrees with the PCOS diagnosis. Like now.
An RE's job is to get you pregnant, an OBGYNs job is to help you have a healthy pregnancy and birth. OBGYNs do not have the diagnostic expertise, and unfortunately there are cases of OBGYNs wrongly prescribing medications and incorrect diagnoses. I don't mean to scare you, just a heads up.
Your OBGYN should be able to refer you to an RE. We're lucky in Chicago to have lots of options! I see an RE at Northwestern, and I'd be happy to share my thoughts if you are interested.
Good luck! Hope your stay is short and sweet
Welcome and GL! I hope you get to the bottom of the problem soon and it is easily fixable

Thank you all for the friendly welcome! I agree that I should probably go straight to an RE. I will try to get DH to get his SA ASAP and then go from there.
