Trouble TTC

7DPO Progesterone level

I know I was talking to someone yesterday about what a good progesterone level is if you O'ed. I don't remember what post it was on though.

But anyway- my nurse called me back last night with my progesterone number and I actually O'ed!!!  Clomid worked for me! Yay!!  Lol I was so excited. My temps didn't really look awesome to me so I questioned it a little. Now we just have to have good timing and maybe even get KU!

So my progesterone came back at 25. I tried to dig in a little more as to what number is "good". She just said we just look to see if you O'ed and any reading between 2.3-25 means you did. She said if you progesterone is on the low end the dr may rx you a supplement but anywhere between those numbers is good.

So I hope that answers some questions for ya...

Re: 7DPO Progesterone level

  • I temped on my first month on clomid and found that my temps were not very accurate - I think clomid screws them up.

It is much better to just rely on the progesterone level to confirm ovulation.  I had the same feeling the first month on clomid - I was so happy I finally o'ed!  I think my level was 17 (vs. 0.8 the previous month!).

Did you get an u/s to check your lining?   That is the clomid issue that I had - it thinned it so much that it doesn't really matter that I O'ed.  :(

No I actually didnt. I ended up switching RE's because of this. When I came on here and learned the dangers of clomid and realized I wasn't properly taken care of I was a little ticked. My new RE took my cycle as of yesterday (we had our initial consult) and he is the one who confirmed O. On my next cycle with him he is actually upping my clomid and he does a TON of monitoring.

I feel like if there is issues with my lining we will know next cycle. We will also know if i'm producing good follies and whatnot. Even though I came back as O'ed I know we didn't have good timing (because of DH's work schedule with Xmas). I'm really looking forward to my next cycle with the monitoring. I'm a little excited for the ultrasounds to see if i'm producing a good follie (or two!). I kinda wanna see how it looks in there (is that weird?)

Anyway. GL with your cycle. Sorry if i rambled on.... Zip it!

Totally not weird - I actually felt the same way.  It was interesting to see what was going on in there!   And actually it wasn't until the second month on clomid that the lining became an issue - so you may be lucky.  The only surprise with me was I was expecting an u/s on my stomach - I didn't know it was a vaginal u/s!  But its not too bad.   GL!
