Trouble TTC

PCOS Graduates?

I have a question. How many  graduates do we have with PCOS? The more and more stories I read I feel worse and worse. Not loosing hope here but really how freaking long is this stupid process going to take!

I need a little cheering up  Tongue Tied

  • I have PCOS, and I've known it for years before I finally got a doc to listen.  At my u/s as part of my diagnosis workup, they said I had an 'impressive' number of cysts.  (I have almost all the other 'outward' symptoms too - acne, hair, no periods)

I actually got pregnant while only taking Metformin.  I was waiting until my new insurance started in January to do more treatments.  I'm not super far along, so I'm still very cautious, but hopefully this gives you hope!  I only ovulated twice in 2010, and the first time, my prog. level was only 5.6, which barely counts anyway.

    Good luck!!!!

  • I may not of conceived yet, but I have high hopes! Just had my u/s done today (preparing for IVF with Gonal F and Lupron injections... and on metformin) and I have more than 12 follies!! Maturing perfectly. I am hopeful - and you should be too! Make sure you have a good RE and not just a gyno.. that was the best thing I did!

  • I've got pcos.  You'll get there, it just takes time.  The RE will eventually find the right combo that works for you.

I got lucky with IUI#3 and injectibles.

    Good luck!  It'll happen.

  • I was diagnosed with PCOS at age 18.  I had prepared myself mentally for a much longer journey than we endured.  I had a regressive response to clomid the first time I took it (had 2 8mm follies, then nothing 2 days later).  The second round worked for us.  I was in total shock given the 13 years and many specialists, including my Edno, tell me that IVF was likely our only option.

Like pp said, don't give up!

  • IF is tough, but don't lose hope.  There are lots of grads with PCOS when you combine the ladies of 3T and IF.

I did 5 rounds of Clomid + TI only to get 5 BFN.  Changed doctors, started Met, got my BFP on my 2nd IUI cycle with Follistim, trigger, IUI and progesterone.  Two healthy baby boys on the way.

  • I have PCOS.  It's hard because the symptoms are so different from person-to-person.  Try to keep your chin up and keep hoping! Chances are, it will happen for you.
