Re: "Dropping" Question

  • I can tell because my belly actually looks a little lower, I can breathe a "little" better, and I have an ENORMOUS amount of pain in my pelvic bones where they join at the crotch. Dr. said its from the weight being pushed lower in to my pelvic cavity.

  • With my first baby I could feel the difference. I didn't pay attention to how low my stomach looked since I carried low to begin with. You'll begin to feel a lot more pressure around your pelvic area and crotch. I started waddling around like a penguin pretty much. It became a lot harder to get up from a seated position and walking "normal" was challenging. When this happened there was no movement from baby. This is just my personal experience though, everyone's body is different so don't stress if your baby doesn't move at all. My little girl was 100% healthy when she was born.

  • I agree with pp who said that you can breathe so much better after the baby drops!  I've also noticed that my heartburn is significantly better.  I can actually feel the baby kind of between  my legs, when I stand up there is a lot of pressure.  My doctor did an internal exam yesterday and she said the baby's head was pressing against my cervix and I can totally feel it!

  • I dropped at 33 weeks.  He def felt/feels lower and like PP said I noticed less frequent heartburn and breathing a little easier.  As for movement, tho my little guy hasn't changed a bit.  He's still as active as ever!  When he really gets going he has my whole belly moving and shaking.  :-)

  • I still look the same but can definitely feel the baby in my pelvis. LO is still crazy busy in there! The dr did tell me that if I do not feel movement to come in and get checked out so it's not supposed to stop moving.
