  I have read that for some people the baby drops during labor, and also that high fluid can keep the baby from dropping until your water breaks/is broken.

  this is baby #3 for me and its the 1st time my dr has told me the station.

  i am 3cm 50% effaced and -3 station.

  My doctor just told me that baby's head is coming down, cervix is softening but no dialation. Hmph. I hope I'm one of those people that it just happens all at once.

  On Sun at 33 weeks I was told baby is still high (that's all I got as far as station) and I was 1cm and 25% effaced.

  I had my Dr. Appt yesterday and she said that I was 75% effaced, but that I had not dialated yet, she said that for a second she thought that i was, but she said i was just not there yet, she said that she would not be suprised if I was at a 1 or possibly a 2 at my next weeks appt.

  I went from closed to 2cm and 50% effaced in 1 week.

  Then @ my next visit (5 days later) I was 3 cm 50% effaced.   Good luck

  at my 35wks appt in the first wk of jan i was 1cm, no effacement and -1station. so super close to 0 station, lol. she likes to hang out low.my cervix feels pretty sore so i'm sure i've dilated at least another cm over the past day or so. who knows.

  As of my appt yesterday, she said I was 85% effaced and 1cm. Baby was still a little high. She did not say what station I was at.

  with DS1 I was not dilated at all water just broke had to start from 0cm but only progressed to 4cm after 24hrs we decided baby had to come c/s. So i think sometimes baby is ready before mom is and sometimes mom is ready before baby lol. I was 37weeks with DS1 and let me tell you HE was ready 7lbs 14oz 21.5inch!!

  As of today, I am fingertip dilated & not effaced but cervix is getting soft.  She didn't say anything about a station.
