Hey, Charters - two implantation dips = twins?

For those of you that have been charting, did you notice what looked to be two implantation dips? I was terrified when I had a huge dip after I got my BFP, but so far everything seems okay. That would have been at 13 dpo. I had my first dip at 9 dpo.

So just now this crazy thought came in my head. Could 2 dips mean twins?

I'm laughing at myself for asking it, but I'm honestly curious if anyone that knows they are pregnant with twins (and charted) had 2 dips.

My husband thinks I am nuts. I pretty much am, but it's fun

I don't know if charting really provides that level of detail, know what I mean? And, if you have two dips 4 days apart, that would probably indicate two distinct ovulations, and not two eggs being ovulated simultaneously. I don't think with fraternal twins you have two luteal surges, I think you just release two eggs. Two dips could just be temperature fluctuation or variation of your BBT.

You could try searching the FF chart gallery for charts that are pregnant with multiples and seeing if you spot any with double dips in the post-O period...

you shouldn't temp after getting a BFP. Partially for this reason.

13 DPO would be awfully late for implantation.

I think that your dips have nothing to do with twins. You would have only one dip, when you ovulate you will either release one or more eggs not release one then a few days go by and release another.

Okay, for the records, I do not think I am having twins. It just got me wondering if those that are having twins, had 2 dips. 13 dpo is late for an implantation dip. But what about those that had 2 dips close together and earlier in the LP?

I really enjoy charting though. I am not too hardcore, mostly relying on my BBT, but sometimes checking cervical fluid. I think it's amazing the kind of information you can get from just those things alone. I have gotten pregnant 3 times while charting and each time I have had an implantation dip, and then my temps remained elevated until I finally stopped taking my temperature. Normally, my temps would gradually drop before AF started. I really like being able to go back and study my charts.

FF addresses this specific question in their Q&A section. Basically they say no, you can't see it on the chart because multiple ovulation occurs within less than a 48hour period so it is not significant enough to show up on a chart.
