I'm not yet pregnant again, but I am a vegetarian. I was wondering what other people are going to do when/while they are preganant. I'm planning on eating meat again when I'm pregnant, at least turkey and seafood. What about anyone else?
I had been a vegetarian for a year, when I got pregnant. I started eating meat again because I was craving it. I thought it could be my body's way of telling me I need protein or iron.
I had been a vegetarian for about a year (only chicken before that) when I got pregnant. I'm 36 weeks now, I haven't eaten any meat and everything's been fine. I don't eat soy either but I haven't had any trouble getting enough protein. I'd say just wait and see what works for you.

I've been a vegitarian for almost my entire life and just gave birth three weeks ago to a very healthy baby boy! I do eat eggs and dairy and made sure to get a serving or two every day (at least the white of a hardboiled egg). Also kept up with prenatal vitamins, ate lots of nuts and beans.
Talk to your Doctor if you'd like personal diet recomendations but as long as you make an effort to get protein and vitamins there isn't any problem being a pregnate vegitarian.
I've been veggie since I was 12... Didn't change a thing while pregnant, but left it as an option--I expected to crave meat but never did. I was slightly anemic during my 3rd tri, but 1 iron pill every other day fixed that.
I've been a vegetarian for 11 years (also don't drink milk or eat eggs). I didn't crave meat one bit during pregnancy and had a healthy baby 2 months ago. For omega 3s you can buy vegan DHA capsules to avoid fish oil and gelatin capsules.
