Ideas for finding a similar (cheaper) nursery item?

So I saw this elephant bookholder on a nursery blog and fell in love with it ... but it's $124 from Dwell Studios. Sorry, no can do! Anyone seen a similar item elsewhere? I thought about trying Etsy, but I'm not sure how much less a handcrafted version of this would be.

would not be too hard to cut out a pattern....

I'd put an ad on craigslist. There are a lot of craftsmen that are looking for small/odd jobs and I bet you could find someone to do this for much less.
