Babies: 6 - 9 Months

going from four pumpings at work to 2 with a nursing at lunch

Is this going to totally mess up my supply? I started this on Tuesday since I live so close to work now but I'm worried that baby won't eat as much because how can  I be sure I have 5oz in me right now? And then I'm worried that if she does get her 5oz, I won't have enough for my afternoon pump.

Should I just stop and go back to my four pumps at work? WWYD?

PS I cant bump at work anymore so I will check replies afterwards. Miss you guys!!!

  • i think youll be fine and the lunchtime nursing will be great for your supply (boobs respond better to babies than pumps), you'll get a chance to bond, and if you are going to baby's day care your milk will also make antibodies for any diseases floating around there.

  • I recently cut 2 pumping sessions out (the one right before bed; then, a few weeks later, the one first thing in the morning), and my supply hasn't been drastically affected.  I have noticed I'm producing less, but I'm still able to keep up with DD.

I've only ever pumped twice during an 8.5 hour work day - so I imagine you'll be fine cutting down to two.  If you're nervous, though, you could try cutting down to three, then down to two.
