is it pointless to have sex with no CM?

Fertile or otherwise?  It's CD 12, DH and I decided that we're going the EOD route this cycle, so we started last night.  But I have NOTHING in the way of CM yet.  Almost dry, but a little creamy.  I feel like it's completely pointless to even have sex if there's no CM, am I wrong?  How do they swim if there's nothing to swim in?

Sorry if this is dumb.  I'm just getting anxious.  Huh?

    Sometimes I feel like that.  But you should still do it.  Look at it this way: First, it's good for your Dh's semen to go every other day and maybe you have fertile CM, but you just haven't detected it yet.  Maybe it will start like right before you have sex.  My motto is: don't overthink, just have sex.

    Baby N conceived after 1 miscarriage and more than 2 years of TTC. Diagnosis was low sperm count. We found success after 3 months of anastrozole to increase DH's testosterone and one IUI.

    I agree with PP. If your husband doesn't have any sperm issues then I would go for it. I would also recommend using Pre-seed if you don't already. :)

    Alot of women never seen EWCM...so it is not pointless.  But you can always get Preseed...it asks as an artificial CM.

    Not pointless. If you are going to do the EOD route, you have to expect there will be days where you aren't going to have fertile CM.  Use preseed and try not to overthink it.  Also, I think looking at sex as "completely pointless" if it doesn't give you a chance to get pregnant is not a great way to look at it.  I know we all forget, but I bet YH would appreciate having sex with his wife without the pressure of having to have it be all about a baby.

    Great point, and I didn't really mean it as "completely pointless" AT ALL, just baby making-wise.  I get really sore easy, so I don't like to overdo it during the time when we should be having baby-making sex, KWIM?  That's why I'm wanting to do the EOD thing this month.  4 days in a row was just too much for me last cycle.

    Thanks ladies!  I just went out and found Pre-Seed, so I'm excited to use it!

    When I have little or no CM we use preseed. Good luck.
