Dude!
We got this from Home Despot, it's perfect!
We put it lengthwise, and Margaux loves pulling stuff from the drawers and shelves and putting stuff back. We're thinking of getting a couple more, one more for her stuff and one for our stuff in the master bathroom. The assembly is kind of a pain, but it ends up being solid and stable. Inexpensive, too!
Re: Toy storage
I have been looking for a toy chest forever and I can't find one that I like. They are either too cheap looking (toys r us, ect) or too expensive (the ones I really want). This seems like it would be a great alternative. I need something for downstairs that doesn't look like it's for TOYS.
Bummer that it's only online though. I am an instant gratification kinda girl
We got ours at our local store! You could call and check, they might carry it at yours. We got a black one, it looked more like furniture than the white they had.
You know what... I think I will. I just fished around a little bit more and found the same one but darker wood and with nine cubbies. I like it a little better being wider, I think. I put that and nine storage containers in my cart and it's only $114. That's a steal! If my local store doesn't have it (which I'm pretty sure they won't because they suck) I am ordering it online!
Thanks Amy!
We have these. A bit expensive but not cheap looking, and they come in different colors.

We have this too and love it!! I hate those stupid toy chests/bins because you can never find anything and toys just get lost in the bottom. DD#1 loves to "work" with the fabric bins too. Makes putting away toys fun for her.
I'm thinking about getting one for our office/craft room/library if we ever get around to doing something about the mass of boxes in there.
