I should have listened to SumnerBride!

I think it was her, anyway...someone told me to be wary of adopting this puppy with a toddler plus a baby on the way.  Although I'm glad we didn't just drop her off at a shelter, and she is fun to have around, it is EXHAUSTING!  I guess this is probably a sneak preview of life with two kids, no?

DD will go in the bathroom and crank on the water in the sink, and while I'm getting her out of that, pup poops on the floor.

While I'm cleaning that up, DD is climbing on top of her table trying to knock my purse off the counter so she can dig through it; meanwhile, the puppy is sneaking Kleenex out of the trash and ripping them to shreds.

DD drinks out of the puppy's water bowl and lets the pup lick on the spout of her sippy cup...ew.

The house looks like wreckage all day, between the two of them, and I feel like anytime one of them is on their own (pup in the crate, or DD playing/napping), I need to spend time with the other one...so not much down time for me.  I hope the pup gets a little easier to handle before Cubby Two comes!

Still, she's cute:

  • haha.. how could you refuse such a cute puppy??
  • I'll tell you, you're braver than I am!

I saw your many posts and really just wanted to tell you to not adopt her, but that would have been so mean to say!

She is cute. ?And, hey, by the time #2 arrives, she should be trained! ?

  • OMG it sounds like my life lmao  The crate is my best friend!  I have 2 dogs though and those 2 can raise some holy hell through out the house....thank god the older dog doesnt get into things like the puppy does.  One thing I've noticed that if puppy is bored things get bad so I tend to keep some tennis balls around and play indoor fetch to wear her out in the afternoons.

  • lol this made me laugh so hard!  That is totally my life with my 2 kids and 2 dogs.  I'm sorry you are going through that but you will be a pro by the time the baby is born.  GL with the puppy!
  • She is so cute!  We have a crazy dog who still acts like a puppy.  She is so much trouble but worth it.  DD and the dog love to play together and keep each other busy.  Sometimes they make huge messes but they have so much fun.  I love the dog because she eats all the food that DD drops.  I'm mad at the dog today because she popped DD's brand new Elmo ball lol.

  • HAHA!!  Finally, I'm right about something! Wink

I'm telling ya, dogs, especially puppies, are A LOT of work-did I mention A LOT?!

I have two bulldogs who are not puppies now, but still are a constant pain in my arse.  I love them and hate them all in the same breath.  And I'm even more worried now that I have another baby on the way.

I commend you for trying to help this poor pup out, but I also feel very sorry for you too!  If dogs don't get enough attention, they can throw fits worse than a toddler can, and what's worse is that you can't reason with them!!!

Good luck to you in your adventure though-I'm sure in the end everything will work out just fine.
