Weaning is going great!

I was so nervous and sad about weaning DS but it is going suprisingly great.  I wanted to share, since I really thought it was going to be a wreck and I bet there are others out there in the same boat.

I decided to skip bottles and go straight to the sippy and it worked.  DS has been EBF until last week and I decided if he would take to the sippy I would go with it.  He giggles and squeals when he sees the sippy now.  I chose the cup because  DS#1 was hooked on bottles (for milk only) until he was 2+ yrs old it was really hard to get him off them.  I have been using an Avent sippy and he is now taking 5oz of formula once a day.  I'm in no rush, but plan on dropping another feeding in a week.  He's doing amazing.  I was afraid that I waited too long and it would be a heartbreaking battle, I'm so relieved.

    That's awesome! It was very difficult for me to come to terms with the idea of weaning but DD did great as well.

    That is nice to hear! I am weaning right now too and was so scared/sad that it would be more of a hastle than it has been. My DS hasn't skipped a beat he will take a bottle no problem and doesn't seem to care what is in it. I am also giving him a sippy cup with water to get him used to it. Glad things are going well for you.
