When do you want to have another?

How soon do you want to have another baby? DD is 2 months and im so ready to add to our family! Now with that new study out about children so close in age im a little nervous but still ready for another...what do you ladies think? Who's ready already?

We are going to begin trying and hoping for our second when Rome is around 10 months old. I'm hoping to get pregnant by the time he's a year and a half at least

um 12th of never sounds ok to me. Actually we think we may be finished. I have one child from previous marraige (11) and now Ally who is 8 weeks. So I'm thinking im getting to old for this.(29)

What study?

We're not sure we'll have another one; we both think that our family feels pretty complete. If we do decide to try again, it won't be until this LO is 4 or 5 years old.

A few days ago came a study about the risk of Autism being higher when the children are under 2 yrs apart. I am one of those that dont always believe these findings to be true. But none the less it's on my mind when I think about having children so close in age. It wont stop me but Its in my head.

Interesting. I haven't heard of that study. We were planning to not actively try but not actively avoid from now until we get ku again.

I saw that study too. It actually helped DH get off my back a little bit. He was in a hurry for number 2, because he'd like to try for a boy.

I am more the number cruncher and know that financially we can't afford to add another one right away.

I would like to start trying for number when DD is about 18 months. Hopefully that way when LO would arrive DD would be potty trained and we'd only have one in diapers.

We are also trying to save in an effort to move from our current home. I don't feel we have the space in this home to bring in a 2nd baby anyhow. This is also why I won't be able to be a SAHM, when we do decide to move we will need both our incomes for a mortgage.

Currently I am using maternity leave to look for a new job, which would hopefully lead to an increase in my salary. If I don't have any bites by the time my leave is done, 7 more weeks, I think I will start thinking about heading back to school. The school option would definitely lead to a delay in a 2nd baby.

Even though it's been exhausting am surprised I'd love to start soon myself. I'm older too so I have the age thing working against me. If I had my say I may say this summer but it will most likely be a year from that at the earliest...if DH is okay with that.

We too are saving up for a bigger house which we'll definitely need and my income helps with that so it can't be too soon.

I think we may be one and done. If we do decide to have a second child it won't be until DD is 4-5 years old. We can't afford to have two in daycare at the same time and I'm debating going back to school.

I think 1 is our lucky #!

We currently live off of DH's salary and my half salary (I work part time) and with everything being so expensive (especially living in NYC), I don't think it's feasible to have anymore. As we all knowk, kids are super expensive and I plan on being a SAHM for the most part, but if we add another LO to the mix, I'd have to go back to work fulltime and I don't want that. I want to raise my daughter myself.

I am no where near ready to have another. DD2 is only a week old. lol We won't have another one until DD2 is 2.5-3. DH is in school and we want to wait until he's done because we will be moving out of state right away and feel that moving halfway across the country with 2 kids will be hard enough. We'll wait until we're moved and settled before having another.

We are gonna start "trying" for another in 2-2 1/2 yrs... Want baby girl to have her baby time and be at an age where we could reason with her, even a little... Im personally not ready to be pregnant again plus DD is a handful as is

1 and done. I'm 36 and waited to have LO. Wit the cost of childcare and college down the road, we will stick to one.

I'm pretty sure I'm done with LJ. I had such a rough pregnancy, but my DH wants at least 1 more, so we compromised and said we would make no decisions for 3 years. When LJ turns 3, we will revisit the conversation and decide if we want more or not.

We may be one and done. DH and I are both over 35 so if we wanted to have another we would start TTC within the next year. But frankly, I was fairly traumatized by my birth experience (uterine infection, c-section, excessive blood loss) and not in a hurry to do that again. We have always been ok with the idea of having only one child. Not going to get my tubes tied or have DH snipped, but we probably won't seriously discuss the idea of another one for awhile.

Um, never. Lol, having two little ones is super hard. If do have another one it won't be until 2015.

We're probably going to hold off for a 2-3 years. At least until we get a house.
